Narcotics Department

With a location in Lufkin, Texas, the Texas Department of Public Safety is a law enforcement agency that provides public safety services to people in the state of Texas by enforcing laws, administering regulatory programs, managing records, educating the public and managing emergencies. It maintains a criminal law enforcement division that is comprised of criminal intelligence, motor vehicle theft, narcotics and crime laboratory service bureaus, as well as the bureau of information analysis. The Texas Department of Public Safety also has a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. In addition, the Texas Department of Public Safety operates an emergency management, highway patrol and administration divisions, as well as a public safety commission.
