It took a dream and a desire to make the world's greatest pizza and that became Mr. Gatti s Pizza and Gattitown Eatertainment. The pizzeria 'Eatertainment' concept features enhancements to the traditional 'All You Can Eat' buffet facility. Dining areas include a quiet space for relaxed dining, and a Fun Flix video room showing cartoons and nostalgic comedy programs on large screens, TV rooms for viewing sports events and other programs, and private rooms that can be reserved for birthday celebrations, business meetings or social functions. The concept creates a destination for families, emphasized by a smoke-free, alcohol-free environment and excludes video games depicting excessive violence. There are 150 company and franchised owned Gatti's Pizza locations across eight states in the Southwest and Midwest. Of these locations, 105 are similar to the Gattitown Eatertainment and 'Gatti's-To-Go' facilities. Though the traditional buffet oriented stores continue to operate, the company is currently only franchising the 'Gattitown Eatertainment' and 'Gatti's-To-Go' concept. In 2004, Blue Sage Capital acquired Gatti's. Blue Sage is a private equity investment firm based in Austin, Texas.
