Mitchell Elementary School

Mitchell Elementary School is a Texas Education Agency-recognized school that enrolls more than 1,100 students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as reading, science, social studies and mathematics. The school also conducts enrichment classes in various areas, including art, computers, library skills, music and physical education. It provides exceptional education, bilingual, English as a Second Language, gifted and talented education, Title I and special education programs. The school additionally offers services to assist targeted students who are in need of small group and individual academic assistance based on teacher referrals and admission reviews and dismissal committee recommendations. Its parent-teacher association sponsors several programs, such as fajita dinners and teacher appreciation luncheons.
