Mesquite Isd's Special Education

The Special Education Department of the Mesquite Independent School District is located in Mesquite, Texas. The department s staff includes psychologists, social workers, therapists, audiologists and diagnosticians. It provides content mastery, self-contained and behavioral adjustment classes to physically and mentally disabled children. The department also offers occupational, physical, and music and speech therapies. In addition, it provides homebound and dyslexia services. The Special Education Department provides various deaf education and autistic programs. It also offers augmentative communication and behavior adjustment classes. The department provides interpreter training and social work services. It organizes Special Olympics, extended school year program and diagnostic evaluation services.
