The Meals on Wheels program provides a variety of nutritional services for homebound senior citizens and adults with disabilities. The program is provided throughout San Antonio. It is a daily nutritional meals program. The meals are arranged by local nonprofit agencies and delivered by various volunteers every day. One-third of the allocated federal nutritional allowance is spent daily on such meals. The meals are funded through a variety of sources, including the United Way, Bexar Area Agency on Aging, and Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. The Meals on Wheels program is supported by Christian Senior Services, which was incorporated in 1977.
