McAllen Independent School District-Special Education Department

McAllen Independent School District's Special Education Department is dedicated to providing a Free Appropriate Public Education (F.A.P.E) to students with disabilities, aged 3-21 years, and from birth to 3 years for those with Visual or Auditory Impairments. Their goal is to meet the diverse needs of these students, enabling them to reach their maximum potential and successfully transition into the community, whether it be further education, employment, or other community settings.

With a strong belief in supporting students to become productive members of society, the department offers a range of services and related resources to ensure individualized educational plans are met. Led by Executive Director Maribelle Elizondo, the McAllen I.S.D.
