History

While still in college at Texas A&M, I grew tired of wearing the same thing that everyone else was wearing. As a way to pursue another creative outlet, I taught myself to sew and began making clothes from pieces I had acquired in the past. After designing and creating pieces for a few months, interest began to increase and I was soon selling my line at a local shop. With that success, I opened a store front in College Station right after graduation. I expanded my line and started making gameday dresses in 2004 as a way for ladies to look fashionable at A&M sporting events and still be able to support their team. For six years the store thrived and customer base grew. To continue this growth and renew my creativity, I moved to Austin, TX in 2010. I now operate my business from a home studio and operate online. Material is available at several stores in Texas and Oklahoma. Check out our website to place a custom order.

Specialties

Material specializes in original unique clothing for women and children. Each piece is made from vintage and re-purposed fabric making every item one of a kind. We also work directly with customers to create custom orders. See our website for more information and send us an email!
