History

Mahogany shared concern for black women in Austin due to when she would visit salons to get her hair done she noticed that prices were outrageous and little or no customer service was given. Also, there was no real education provided to customers about their hair and brands to best work with their hair type. Beauty for women of color in Austin was Shallow, Overpriced, and Scary. Coming from a line of beauticians, She understood the importance of having a place where you could be valued as a customer and actually see professionals with the passion for hair. Mahogany decided to stop her job in the medical field to bring Love to Hair alive. She started in cosmetology classes to learn the fundamentals as she continued her endeavors she picked up her skill in Mobile Braiding. Driving all over Austin and surrounding areas to assist women with their hair care needs and educating them about how to keep healthy natural hair.
