The Nature Conservancy's Davis Mountains Preserve in Fort Davis, Texas, is a rugged yet fragile sky-island refuge surrounded by the vast West Texas desert landscape. With a 30-year effort to protect tracts of land, TNC has preserved nearly 110,000 acres of the Davis Mountains region, including the 32,844-acre Davis Mountains Preserve.
