LRGVDC

The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) is a collaborative association of local governments established in 1967, serving Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties in Texas. Its mission is to enhance regional health, safety, and welfare through cooperative planning and development initiatives.

Governed by a 27-member Board of Directors, primarily composed of elected officials, LRGVDC implements a range of programs across four departments: Community Economic Development, Health and Human Services, Public Safety, and Transportation. As a designated regional planning organization, LRGVDC facilitates a comprehensive Regional Strategic Plan that guides development and fosters community involvement throughout the region.
