History

When Leigh Ann Rodriguez, a North Texas mother of five, started a weight loss program, she realized she wanted to drop the pounds without dropping her life. So she created a new drink mix, called Smartini, that allowed her to do just that. A normal Margarita has more than 500 calories, while a Margarita made with Smartini mix only has 96 calories. Instead of using sugar, agave nectar or syrup, the Smartini uses the plant extract, Stevia. The mix started as something for Leigh Ann and her friends to drink at home, but it quickly grew into a much larger project.
