HistoryWorld Shuffle is a progressive initiative to bring music from around the world to the United States. The company was founded by Lisa Wheeler and Maya Trevino. Maya Trevino previously worked at Universal Music International, Putumayo World Music, Spotify and Pandora. Maya has a degree in Ethnomusicology, the study of Ethnic Music. Even as a child Maya dreamed of one day owning her own company. Lisa also dreamt of owning her own business. Lisa has a Master's of Business Administration. Lisa and Maya founded World Shuffle in the Spring of 2014. Initially, World Shuffle was known as Say Hello to the World. In July of 2014, World Shuffle hired their first employee Bobby Davidson. When preparing for his New Year's Eve party, Bobby Davidson created a playlist with music from all around the world. He named it World Shuffle. The new name was born. In February of 2015, Say Hello to the World was re-branded as World Shuffle.
