Kulvinder S. Bajwa, MD, is a board-certified surgeon with expertise in hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, weight loss surgery, reflux and foregut surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. Recognizing that surgery is a major event in a patient’s life, he helps prepare patients for this experience. This includes guiding them to reliable sources of information so they’re well-informed and giving them realistic expectations during recovery. Bajwa is a professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He’s also a retired colonel and command surgeon for the U.S. Army Reserve.

Sheila M. Coogan, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained minimally invasive vascular specialist. She’s also a professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Coogan has published numerous articles, chapters, and abstracts on vascular surgery. She has participated in nine research trials that have investigated the improvement of vascular surgery techniques and the use of new devices.

Holly Holmes, MD, MS, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained geriatric medicine specialist focusing on the care and treatment of older adults. She prioritizes healthy aging while incorporating evidence-based medicine into an individual treatment plan. She’s passionate about the care of older patients with complex issues. Holmes is a professor and director of the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She is also vice president of community engagement at the university and the Joan and Stanford Alexander Professor in Gerontology.
