Junaid Siddiqui, MD

Dr. Siddiqui finished his medical school from Rawalpindi Medical College, in Pakistan. He came to the United States in 1994 and joined the Masters In Public Health (MPH) program at The University of Oklahoma. He finished his internal medicine residency from The University of Connecticut and became board certified in 1998. He joined the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City and worked as a staff physician for six years. He then joined The University of Connecticut as aresearch faculty and facilitated Hepatitis-C trials. He joined The University of Iowa as a fellow in 2005 and finished his fellowship in 2008. He has been working in themedical field for the last 17 years, which has helped him to develop into a competent clinician. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine for the last 10 years and has fulfilled all requirements for certification in Gastroenterology. His primary areas of interests includes endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), Barretts esophagus treatment with radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and small bowel enteroscopy. He has been certified to perform double balloon enterscopy (DBE) and endoscopic mucosal dissection (ESD). He received this training from Jichi Medical Center, Japan under Dr. Yamamoto, who is the inventor of double balloon enteroscopy and a pioneer in endoscopic mucosal dissection. He also specializes in treating liver diseases, including hepatitis-C and B.
