Dr. Ochoa earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2001, where he co-authored influential studies on ultrasound-assisted lipectomy and hand infections. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also conducted NIH-funded research on muscle physiology and angiogenesis, earning a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation in 2007. After board certification in General Surgery in 2010, he pursued Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, focusing on microvascular reconstruction.
