J & D Produce

J & D Produce is a wholesale produce company that markets products grown in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and in Mexico under the Little Bear brand. It sells limes, carrots, pickles, eggplant, peppers, greens, radishes, cabbage, leaf lettuce, onions, melons, mangos and asparagus. The Rio Grande Valley has a year-round tropical climate and fertile soil that is ideal for growing high-quality produce. Because J & D Produce manages the entire production process from field to truck to warehouse and ships its product in extra-heavy waxed cartons, customers can expect lower spoilage and less inventory shrinkage. The company recently completed an 80,000-square-foot facility expansion that added 21 additional refrigerated dock doors and a 30,000-square-foot high-humidity cold storage to its Edinburg, Texas, facilities.
