Founded in 1971 as Volunteer Capital Corporation, J. Alexander s opened its first restaurant in 1991 in Nashville, Tenn. J. Alexander s is a contemporary American restaurant that serves American-style food. It uses original artwork as part of its d cor in each of its locations.
