Independent Diver

History

After diving with and working for some of the other local dive shops, I realized that the dive industry's focus is driven by money; quantity of students and gear sold. Having a Philosophy degree I naturally analyzed this and determined that this shouldn't be the focus. Diving is a fun fulfilling sport, like surfing or sky diving. Diving doesn't exist to benefit the dive shop. Diving exists to benefit the soul.

Specialties

Here at Independent Diver, we specialize in good basic instruction, focusing on quality not quantity. Mastering buoyancy is key! It's like balance, which you need in order to walk here on land. Underwater, good buoyancy makes you a good diver! Member of PADI - Professional Association of Diving Instructors Continuing education taught here includes Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster. Many specialty courses available. Additional certifications available here are American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Lifeguarding Instructor, CPR, AED, and First Aid.
