WSC, INC has had extensive experience in the design of lightly loaded structures such as warehouses and freezer/cooler facilities. Through this experience a combination of steel frame and concrete tilt-wall design was developed for an economical warehouse enclosure; and an economical steel frame which provides structure for insulation panels of a freezer/cooler facility. Our experience also has shown that a shallow floating type foundation is an economical method of support for these structures and provides adequate strength and stability. Our approach is to properly prepare the site and soil to provide an economical foundation rather than to ignore the soil and provide an extensive and expensive foundation. WSC, INC principals stress continuing education activities to ensure that those involved in design continually are aware of the latest developments and are capable of providing the degree of expertise required. This often results in a significant degree of cost-effectiveness regardless of the projects complexity or size.
