Crime Stoppers is a crime prevention program that provides 24-hour online emergency service. Located in Greenville, Texas, it is a part of The Greenville Police Department, which preserves peace, enforces laws and ordinances, protects resident s lives and properties and arrests law violators. It maintains a team of more than 70 employees, including sergeants, investigators, lieutenants, officers and public assistants. The department has a patrol division that is responsible for the preliminary investigation of calls for service and crime. The Greenville Police Department also has a criminal investigation division that prevents illegal drug activities. The department additionally operates a K-9 unit that handles issues related to tracking and searches for property and persons.
