History

After passing the bar I opened my own office. I did all kinds of legal work and was attracted to criminal defense. I have defended everything from traffic tickets to bank robbery and child molestation. My college background was in Chemistry and Biology although my degree is in History. In the late 1980's breath tests began to be a big thing in DWI cases so I observed as many of those trials as I could as I was interested in the science behind it. My curiosity was aroused and I wanted to learn as much as I could about it. At that time, Texas did not offer a lot of DWI education courses so I went to Georgia and took courses there. There I met some of my closest friends and we began the National College of DUI Defense which holds its classes at Harvard Law School. I also teamed up with William Head from Atlanta and launched a nationwide Internet DWI referral service. I have now been defending only DWI since 1997.
