Helping Our Riders Succeed in Education Program

Casa de Amigos is a nonprofit, Christian social service organization that is funded by churches, institutions and the United Way of Midland. The organization serves individuals and low-income families in Midland in Texas. It organizes health education classes and wellness screening programs. Casa de Amigos offers prescription solutions for low-income individuals suffering with chronic health problems requiring long-term medication assistance. In addition, the organization provides after-school sewing, cooking and cultural dance classes for youths. Its on-site library maintains books, videos, DVDs and reference materials. Casa de Amigos offers opportunities for visiting attorney representatives regarding legal questions and problems related to family law.

Training and Education Center for OSHA

Midland Independent School District operates more than 35 education centers, elementary, middle and high schools throughout Texas. It offers education to students in grades kindergarten through 12 and has an enrollment of more than 21,000 students. The district offers a research-based curriculum that includes language arts, science and health education, foreign languages, mathematics, social studies, fine arts, career and technology, special and physical education. It provides a variety of extracurricular activities to students, including debates, band, choir, theater arts, orchestra and speech. The services offered by the district include health assistance and transportation, child nutrition and individual counseling. The district organizes athletic tournaments and offers various sports activities, such as football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, tennis and track and field. The district has its administrative office located in Midland, Texas.
