Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and women’s health. Patients in the Lake Houston and Kingwood area enjoy her kind, respectful approach to care. As an advocate for her patients, Dr. Shafiq strives to provide everyone with the most compassionate care and as many resources the patient may need.

Dr. Karla Alba, who is board-certified in family medicine, treats patients of all ages and speaks fluent Spanish. In addition to her board certification, she also holds a certificate in basic life support. As a family medicine physician, she sees patients for acute care (such as flu, asthma and injuries), chronic care (such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, anxiety and depression) and preventative medicine, including cancer screenings.
