New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) is a public-power municipal utility dedicated to enhancing the quality of its community by providing innovative essential services to its customers and serving as good stewards of the environment and natural resources. New Braunfels Utilities was established in 1942 when the City Commission of New Braunfels purchased the electric transmission and distribution system from the Public Service Company of San Antonio.
