The Development Services Department is governed by the city of Dallas. It reviews, approves and inspects plans and policies for the development of infrastructure. The department s current planning division is responsible for the review and processing of use termination cases, zoning requests and variances, and subdivision and platting issues. It also offers development code amendment and annexation services. The Development Services Department is also engaged in the notification of public hearings. The department maintains a long range planning division that is responsible for the protection, conservation and maintenance of historical buildings. It administers real estate properties owned by the government of the City of Dallas.

Operational for more than 65 years, Allen Finance Department assists the city manager and all departments in planning and maintenance activities. The department provides financial management and policy support, analytical services, and financial information to the city manager, departments, residents, and other agencies. Open Monday through Friday, it monitors spending activities and manages city funds. Located in Allen, Texas, the finance department also provides management oversight of important financial services, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Additionally, it handles city administration, receiving and processing of financial transactions, maintaining and auditing of accounts, and preparation of asset, liability, revenue and expenditure reports. The department administers billing and collection services, utility solutions, meter reading applications, maintenance of general ledger, cash accounts, specific funds, and coordinates the collection of delinquent bills.
