Dumas, TX 79029
On February 4, 1949, the First Presbyterian Church of Dumas was organized. Fifty-two people were listed on the charter roll. In 1949, a military chapel was moved from Amarillo to become our first and only church home. Additions to the facility were made in 1955, 1972, and 1984. Our congregation has from its beginning been strong in support of Christ's mission. We have sponsored a number of refugee families. In addition to supporting the mission endeavors of the Presbyterian Church USA, the congregation supports Amarillo Children's Home, Meals on Wheels, Dumas Discovery Center, Community Assistance, CareNet, Moore County Memorial Hospice, Moore County Senior Citizens, Safe Place, CASA 69, NOROC, and The Refuge. We open our building and provide a home for community service programs, support groups, local organizations, and Alcoholics Anonymous. We desire to grow in the knowledge and love of our Lord and Savior. We seek to be of service to our neighbor for the glory of God's coming kingdom. We want to invite people to join us in this discipleship. We believe that God is calling us to be His people, to be faithful servants until He comes again in Jesus Christ to live and reign.
