Energen Corporation

Energen Corporation is a diversified energy holding company with headquarters in Birmingham, Ala. The corporation acquires and develops domestic American oil and gas properties, and distributes natural gas in Alabama. Its Energen Resources business unit focuses on increasing production and proved reserves by purchasing and developing onshore North American oil and gas properties. The unit has proved reserves of more than 1.5 trillion cubic feet equivalent. Its major areas of operation are in the San Juan Basin of New Mexico, the Permian Basin in west Texas and Black Warrior Basin in Alabama. Energen Corporation also sells and distributes natural gas in central and north Alabama through Alagasco, its natural gas utility.
