DJ Jammin Jay

HistoryBack in 1992, short on funds, Jay's friend asked him to do a favor and play music at his wedding in Louisville Kentucky. From that 1st 'event'; Jay was booked to do 5 more upcoming events from other's attending that 1st show. Each subsequent event added more and more bookings to his calendar until he realized folks seriously enjoyed his gift. This was the birth of Jammin' Jay (a name given to him by his 'regulars' at his first Club DJ job in Indianapolis, Indiana. While there are many quality DJ's out there, Jay set out to do something very different with his gift. Combined with a love for ALL genres of music, Jay is also able to 'read' people and understand their musical preferences at any given time. He also knows these preferences tend to change through out the course of the event (sometimes just due to alcohol intake, if it's being served), and can successfully keep up with the demand.SpecialtiesJay has learned over the years that details really matter. He takes every precaution to eliminate any situation that could have a negative impact on your event. Youtube is full of videos where music is skipping, equipment quit working, or the DJ is simply playing the wrong song for a special dance. Jay reduces these issues by having 'back up' equipment on site (just in case), having multiple copies (in different formats) of special requests, and not being afraid to ask questions, prior to the event, if there is any confusion on anything. Jay typically spends the night before an event, doing a full equipment check (even on the back ups) and listening to each song in its full length to ensure its quality.
