Dallas Police Departmenl

The Dallas Police Department has more than 2,900 sworn officers and over 550 civilians. It has youth operations, family violence, narcotics and internal affairs divisions. The department also has a computer crime team that investigates crimes involving the Internet. In addition, the Dallas Police Department operates a criminal intelligence unit that includes a Crime Stoppers team, and terrorism, dignitary protection and criminal investigation squads. The department also operates a forgery squad that handles cases related to debit and credit card abuse and mail and identity theft. The Dallas Police Department intervenes in cases of assault, robbery and homicide, and offers compensation and administrative support to the victims. It maintains several locations in Dallas.
