Specialties

The Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture is a 1,271-acre preserve between the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Port Aransas Community Park, State Highway 361 and Piper Channel. The site features two gazebos and a large pavilion for wildlife viewing and hike/bike trails. The coastal prairie and tidal flats feature some of the best habitats our island has to offer. The Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture offers some of the best viewing in town for these majestic birds as they winter here on the Texas coast. Visitors to the Preserve can enter Charlie's Pasture from the parking lot of the Community Park on Ross Avenue, or park along Port Street and walk past the gate, locked due to road damage.
