The Morrison Milling Company began in 1886 as the Alliance Milling Company, a cooperative flour mill formed by local farmers to mill their wheat into flour for north Texas bakers. By 1900, there were several hundred flour mills in Texas. However, in the last 50 years, there has been a major consolidation in the business, and Morrison is one of only two remaining independent flour mills in Texas. Over the years, the company has added the capacity to mill corn into cornmeal and cornmeal products. Today, the company is separated into four businesses: flour, cornmeal, dry mixes and frozen foods.
