Chandra Gibbs, OD, specializes in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect patients' vision, including red eyes, dry eyes, and diabetes-related symptoms. Dr. Chandra Gibbs provides comprehensive eye care to patients at her practice in Richardson, Texas. Her unique approach to education along with a relaxed environment provides patients the opportunity to feel comfortable to ask questions and be informed. She encourages empowering the patient with knowledge in order for them to be their own best doctor. Above all else, her first priority is the well-being of her patients and to show them that she cares.Dr. Gibbs graduated from The University of California Berkeley in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science. She then continued her education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts where she earned her doctorate in Optometry in 2000. Her externship studies included ocular disease, surgical co-management, and low vision.She takes the time to explain the results of eye exams, describes patients' treatment options, and listens to their eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, she encourages patients to ask questions and share their health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.Dr. Gibbs has been practicing in the North Dallas area for the past 18 years. She spends most of her free time with her family. She enjoys watching her two kids playing sports, as well as reading, exercising, and participating in various forms of civic and community service.
