History
Over 100 years ago, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul established El Paso's first hospital, Hotel Dieu. The Daughters founded the Southwest's first school of nursing. In 1988, after closing Hotel Dieu, the Daughters opened Centro San Vicente to provide accessible and affordable medical care and social services. Since then, CSV has kept pace with the community's growth by providing many quality of life services such as medical care, health education, social work, and counseling. The clinic added dental care as an additional service in 2004. On site x-ray, pharmacy and laboratory services are available. Centro San Vicente is affiliated with Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic and largest nonprofit health system. Centro San Vicente is a Federally Qualified Health Center through the Health Resources and Services Administration.
