Carter Physiotherapy

History

Unsatisfied with the traditional business and treatment models of Physical Therapy clinics, Dr Carter began Carter Physiotherapy in 2010. Most PT clinics directly bill insurance which has detrimental effects on how patients are treated. Therapists in these clinics have to see at least 2 patients per hour (usually much more) and use technicians to apply modalities like ultrasound and e-stim. They must do so because insurance companies tend to reimburse the PT only about half of what is billed. At Carter Physiotherapy, we feel that modalities are not nearly as effective as hands-on Manual Therapy, and we also do not agree with having patients pay to perform exercises in the clinic that can easily done at home. Above all, we will never allow an insurance company dictate the treatments we provide. Each of our patients receives an hour of one-on-one treatment from a Doctor of Physical Therapy, meanwhile keeping the cost much lower than other clinics with a similar treatment model.

Specialties

Simply put: We specialize in getting you back to doing the things you need, want, and love to do without pain. Unlike treatment sessions at most Physical Therapy clinics, every patient at Carter Physiotherapy receives an hour of one-on-one time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy... not a technician or assistant. We use unique hands-on Manual Therapy to rapidly resolve pain and injury. Modalities like E-stim and Ultrasound are not used because they are not as effective and efficient as hands-on treatment. Patients also do not spend time doing exercises that they can do on their own. At Carter Physiotherapy, we use a whole-body approach to evaluation and treatment, often finding underlying causes to pain and injuries far from the locations in which they are experienced. Spending a full hour with each patient and using highly effective Manual techniques make it possible to bring about extremely fast results.
