Denison, TX 75021

Carpenter's Bluff is a historic settlement located on the banks of the Red River, approximately 12 miles northeast of Sherman, Texas. Established around 1860, it was initially named after a local ferry operator and has a rich history, including a brief period when it was known as Thiefneck after the Civil War.

The Carpenter's Bluff Bridge, built in 1910, links Grayson County, Texas, to Bryan County, Oklahoma. Originally designed for trains and wagons, the bridge was later renovated for automobile use and now features a charming wooden walkway along one side, offering a glimpse into the area's transportation heritage.

Beautiful and serene. Do not like that there is just a random travel trailer sitting there by where you park, but, oh well. Historical site with some trails... bring shoes and walk down some...
