He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Texas at Austin. Wallace is married to Suzanne and has two children. He graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education - Psychology in 1973. In 1980, he received his J.D. from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he was a published Associate Editor of Baylor Law Review. In 1980, he joined the regional law firm of Hollon & Marion in Boerne, Texas. In 1983, he and his partner created the law firm of Ferguson & Hix at 302 E Blanco Road in Boerne, Texas, and he continues to practice law with Wallace T. Ferguson at the same location.
