I went to this camp every summer for 15 years. It is so refreshing to be in the outdoors. Great staff, great program, and best camp I ever went to. I love Camp Niwana!

Camp His Way

Who Can Come? Camp His Way is a non-profit camp and retreat facility located on the shore of Lake Sam Rayburn. We offer a year round facility for children, youth and adult groups. In the summer we mainly host kids camp for ages 6-12. Our desire is to see everyone draw closer to God and enjoy His creation. With training in environmental technology for outdoor education courses, the camp offers special programs for home schoolers and all interested private and public schools. Who is in Charge? Rick and Lisa Ellermann had been Children's Pastors for twenty years when the call of God showed them the need for an up close and personal Christian camp for children. In the fall of 1995, God gave them the vision for Camp His Way. God has opened many doors that led to the establishment of the Camp. Camp His Way was incorporated in April, 1996. Rick, a cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University, was an Environmental Safety Technology Program Instructor at Lamar University. His background and training provide the backbone of the Camp facility. Lisa is a magna cum laude graduate from College of the Southwest in Business Administration, as well as an Assemblies of God ordained minister. In 2003 she followed God's lead to start Community Church in Jasper, and then moved there full time in 2005. Dustin, a cum laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin in Business Administration and Praise and Who is the Camp Staff? All persons involved with the Camp are sold out to it as a ministry. Any Camp salaries will be minimal, as all funds will be used to operate the Camp and maintain a quality campground. The Camp staff has been totally volunteer. All staff shall be in agreement with the stated purpose of the Camp. All staff shall demonstrate evidence of good moral character. A criminal records check must be obtained on all employees. Any person employed by the Camp is required to hold a valid first aid and CPR certificate. Where do the Funds Come From? Camp His Way, Inc. was created to be a non-profit organization according to the Internal Revenue Service ruling 501 ( c ) 3, obtained August, 1996. 1996. There is no intention to profit from camp on an individual basis. The only profit expected is for the kingdom of God to be glorified and increased. The fees charged to each camper will be based on the actual expense of boarding the camper. Other funds given in forms of offerings and grants will be used to build and maintain the campground. How Are Things Lately? The summer of 2006 was the 10th summer of activities Camp His Way. Over 10 weeks of camp were booked and over 1, 500 campers were registered. By
