Burkburnett Police Department provides law enforcement services while operating under the framework of the Texas and the federal constitution in providing a safer community. It employs more than 15 full-time officers reserve officers. The department consists of a chief of police, lieutenant, sergeants and more than 10 patrol officers. It is further divided into a communication department with full-time and part-time communications operators, a juvenile division, a detective division, narcotics division and a patrol division. The patrol activity provides 24-hour service, 7 days a week and its responsibilities include the apprehension of criminal offenders, repression of crime, preliminary investigations, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, ordinance enforcement, preparation of criminal and incident reports, community relations, testifying in court and other public service requests.
