Bright Leaf Preserve is a natural area spanning over 200 acres within the city limits of Austin, Texas, generously gifted by Georgia B. Lucas. Managed by the Friends of Bright Leaf, this urban gem offers guided hikes on the second Saturday and second Sunday of each month, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore nature on approximately 4-mile long trails.

With a commitment to preserving the fragile ecosystem, Bright Leaf Preserve prohibits dogs, bikes, fishing, and camping, ensuring the protection of its natural wonders. Under the stewardship of the Austin Community Foundation, in accordance with Georgia Lucas' vision, the Friends of Bright Leaf work in collaboration to uphold the preserve's legacy and maintain its status as a cherished urban sanctuary.
