The Hotel Blessing was built in1906 by an architect from Victoria Texas and in 1977 it was given to the Blessing Historical Foundation. Soon after it was restored and entered and entered into the National Register of Historical places, the first official listing in Matagorda County with this particular distinction. Blessing is west of the junction of State Highway 35 and Farm Road 616. Blessing Texas was promoted by Jonathan Pierce, on whose land it was established. In 1903 Mr. Pierce gave the right of way to the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway. Mr. Pierce hoped to designate the place
