History

Barking Hound Village was first started in Atlanta and then brought to the Austin and Dallas areas later on. The Austin and Dallas locations were later sold to a couple who live in Dallas and they hired Vanessa Calabria as their Austin manager for the past 17 years. Vanessa has now purchased the business (during Covid) and looks forward to serving Austin for years to come.

BHV is the ultimate Austin luxury dog hotel. Whether your pup is joining us for fun-filled hours of daycare or for a restful overnight stay, we're committed to providing the very best experience for our four-legged visitors. We provide small supervised play groups in which all dogs are allowed ample human and puppy time. We house all our guests in a bright, clean space complete with mod furnishings and canine pop art. Our community comprises most breeds, sizes, and ages, cared for by specially trained animal lovers -- pet CPR and first-aid certified. No matter if your dog chooses to take a dip in one of our bone-shaped pools in the heat of the summer, jump and play with some new pals, or lounge around watching Animal Planet on TV, they'll be lavished with tons of affection and personal attention as we make every day as fun as can be.
