The Bell County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that offers various community-oriented services, such as traffic incident management, crime mapping and control of criminal activities. Additionally, it provides protection against the destruction of private property and harassing phone calls. The Bell County Sheriff's Office operates a field patrol division that makes reports and assists with the investigation of criminal cases. It intervenes in various types of cases, including misdemeanors, burglaries, robberies, thefts, sexual assaults, domestic violence, child abuse, suspicious deaths, homicides and forgeries. The Bell County Sheriff's Office has an investigation division that investigates criminal offenders and prepares social history reports. It also offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, which provides sessions on decision making, consequences, self-esteem, peer pressure, refusal skills and alternatives to the use of drugs and alcohol.
