Austin Children's Montessori is owned and operated by Thiranjani Wijenayake, a certified Association Montessori International Directress. The school is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The school has been existence since 2004 and our first license was as a licensed care center. Within a few months of opening the license was changed to a commercial status to reflect the growth of the school. Currently, the school has two primary classes (age 3-6 with ratios of 1 - 15), one toddler class (ages 18 months to 3 years with ratios of 1 - 10) and one infant class (ages 8 weeks to 18 months with ratios 1 - 4 then with two staff up to 10 children). The state ratios are listed above but Austin Children's Montessori strives to keep the ratios below the state guidelines. Austin Children's Montessori admits students of any race, color, gender, religion, and national origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded, or made available, to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion or national origin or disability in administration of its educational practices, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Admission to Austin Children's Montessori is on a "first come, first served" basis and a waiting list is maintained for future openings.
