Founded in 1958, Medina Children's Home is one of the leading facilities that provide a range of services to single mothers and children in Texas. It serves more than 190 children and adults. The facility employs over five counselors and licensed child care administrators. Medina Children's Home houses nearly 60 children in its group care facility, which is for dependent, neglected and abused children of ages 5 to17. Its mother-child care program includes more than 25 families and includes vocational training for mothers. The facility also provides medical and dental services through the offices of local professionals. Medina Children's Home organizes a variety of recreational activities and conducts psychological evaluation programs. Medina Children's Home additionally offers housing, utilities, food and health care services.
