The Arlington Humane Society, established in 1984 by pet industry professionals, is dedicated to a principle of Retention Not Surrender, providing support to pet owners to help them keep their pets instead of surrendering them. Operating as a non-kill educational organization, the Society focuses on dog training, behavior resolution, and low-cost veterinary services to reduce the number of animals entering shelters.
As a completely volunteer-run organization, the Arlington Humane Society relies on community donations and does not receive government funding. They do not accept pets that cannot be rehabilitated or adopted, ensuring that their mission prioritizes the well-being and proper care of healthy animals in need.
