Ankur A. Kamdar, MD, is a dedicated, board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric rheumatologist. He’s also an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Kamdar was the first pediatric rheumatologist at the medical school and now leads the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. He holds a joint clinical appointment with the Division of Rheumatology, working closely with the UT Physicians Center for Autoimmunity. He is also an associate program director for the medical school’s general pediatric residency program, where he focuses on training the newest generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Kamdar completed his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine. He did his pediatrics residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship through Baylor College of Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. Kamdar is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Rheumatology and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA). He also serves on the board for the Arthritis Foundation, raising funds for advancing education and research in understanding arthritis. He has received numerous awards for teaching and dedication to service. Beyond his clinical and academic work, Kamdar is a committed mentor, guiding future medical professionals in general pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology.

She treats children of all ages and even offers prenatal appointments for families with ultrasound findings of cleft or other craniofacial differences. While much of her practice focuses on children, she does extend her expertise to adults with congenital differences or complex facial trauma. Outside of work, Sobol enjoys being outdoors, traveling, sampling Houston’s vibrant food scene, and spending time with her loving family and puppy.
