St. Alcuin Montessori School is an independent, nondenominational, coeducational day school that is located on a more than 11-acre campus in Dallas. Founded in 1964, it is one of the largest Montessori schools in North America and serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade eight. Its middle school serves students in grades seven and eight and offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. The school offers a challenging educational experiences program that offers trips to various parts of the United States and Mexico. In addition, its library stocks more than 18,000 books and over five computers. The school s campus includes an art studio, academic classrooms, gymnasium, music rooms, motor development laboratory, performing arts center, amphitheaters, playgrounds and pavilion. It is a member of the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
