History

the 1950's Doc had a dream to build the largest wrecker service in the Brazos Valley. With determination and support from his family and friends, he bought a tow truck and started A-1. In the early years, A-1 was the area's first and only 24-hour wrecker service and by 1958, Doc had gained another truck, a business partner and opened B&K Services, a full service station. Twenty-two years ago, his wife, Sue Kalinec joined A-1 as CEO. She is the current owner and operator and is actively involved in all aspects of the company. It's because of her and Doc's dedication to serving the community that A-1 has continued to prosper and grow. Today, still in our original location, we continue to be an active community partner by: employing over 20 full time personnel, operating a fleet of 25 trucks ranging from light to heavy duty wreckers, flatbeds and haul trucks and managing the largest storage lot in a 100-mile radius.
