Historic concert venue & Memphis music history museum, where many free concerts and events are still produced each spring, summer, and fall, and where *pre-arranged* guided museum tours are given daily at 12pm, 2pm, and 5:30pm. The Shell is the legendary site of Elvis Presley's first ever professional gig, Johnny Cash's first large show, important civil rights and historic preservation actions, and legendary concerts from the big band era to the early rock & roll era to the Country Blues era to the classic rock era,up to the current era, where many "'modern" acts keep The Shell's legacy alive. The Shell has recently been listed as one of Memphis's Best Music History Museums by Memphis Tourism.

Attended a concert and the whole place was wonderful. Sounds was awesome, great sight lines, plenty of restrooms and all the staff were very friendly. I will definitely travel back for another concert
