Founded in 1976 as Nashville Oncology-Hematology, Tennessee Oncology is a physician-owned health care firm that offers a range of medical services. It specializes in the treatment of cancer and conducts various surgeries. The firm conducts radiation, hormonal and biologic therapies. It also performs chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation. In addition, Tennessee Oncology maintains a testing center and offers various screening and diagnostic test services. It conducts blood, pathology, genomics and tumor marking tests. The firm works with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and conducts clinical trials for a variety of diseases.
